Hi Jules,

This board "non fractal related topics" is a chance for members to interact and discuss things not directly related to Fractals.  That might sound counterintuitive but forums often thrive when their remit is expanded.

Protein folding has little to do with fractals.  Or does it?  I'm not tempting an answer on that one - this topic is to share another chance to be a part of something.  If you've not tried protein folding, give it a go - you too might get hooked!

My question is a real question, not a cynical one!

I think that DNA an Protein structures have to do everything with fractals.

protein folding is a very orderly and predictable, albiet very complex, process. it has nothing to do with chaos or fractals. it is a loser anyway. got spare CPU cycles? give them to SETI@home instead.

Ah the old SETI vs folding debate!  Personally I think that SETI hasn't got a cat in hell's chance of finding anything more than static, whereas folding results have already borne research fruit. 

But each to their own!

I think your are not right. DNA, RNA and Protein processes all are fractal related. See the new International PostGenetic Society (Founded some months ago).
