here it is...

Last Lights On
(runtime:13minutes44seconds)

<a href="http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=12185093&amp;server=vimeo.com&amp;fullscreen=1&amp;show_title=1&amp;show_byline=1&amp;show_portrait=0&amp;color=01AAEA" target="_blank">http://vimeo.com/moogaloop.swf?clip_id=12185093&amp;server=vimeo.com&amp;fullscreen=1&amp;show_title=1&amp;show_byline=1&amp;show_portrait=0&amp;color=01AAEA</a>

What can I say? well first of all for the love of god hit the fullscreen button!
(if you are on a low speed line you can click on the hd icon to switch it off/on)

what else can i say...
how about the bare facts. I will let you make up your mind about the animation itself and hope you leave a comment.

so here are the facts…

Two days to set up, and then six months to render 760 keyframes, resulted in around forty 1.9GB uncompressed .AVI files. I added watermarking, fx and time remapping, before multi-pass encoding the 80GB video in h264 (32,768 kbit/sec) and the audio in AAC.

The result is a very high quality
13m44s 1.77 GB (1,903,726,592 bytes) .MP4

****UPDATE****
Here are some altered versions of the original animation as requested.

People wanted it in Reverse...

I love the music, and
I know it wont be to everyone's taste-
but I hope you do to.
As a youtube partner I need to be stricter than most
to make sure I own all rights and/or permissions
to the content I upload on line.

If you have any music requests for my upcoming deep zoom that I would be able to use - by all means send me a mail teamfresh@hd-fractals.com

Wow.

Long!

13 Minutes would just never buffer on my crappy web computer, so I resorted to Firefox's "Download Helper" plugin, and watched it offline   afro

Nifty, Impressive, and Wonderful Work!

I liked the use of special effects at the end, even though I've been known to go overboard with that myself  whistling and rolling eyes

I hope computers get fast enough, soon enough, that nobody ever has to wait 6 months to render out stuff like that Ever Again!!

Thanks guys - Your comments really do mean a lot angel . To be honest I think I could probably could have done the render quicker but I decided to rest the rendering machine on occasion, to stop it from melting! I think my computer hates me after that mammoth render grin
although about the same depth, I feel this zoom pretty much smashes "trip to e214" to bits in terms of pretty much, well - everything - from the animation itself, to the quality of the final video file. I just cant wait to do the next fractal now.... angel

I'd enjoy seeing that sort of Patience applied to a Mandelbulb render!

Or a Box, or any 3D Fractal at all really!!

Kiss and make up with the computer first.  Let it play a game or something, just to show it you care.

Then TORTURE it some More!! hurt

Best fractal zoom I've seen in my life. Never boring. And oh my god, it's full of spirals!

An interesting factoid: After watching through 13 minutes of rapid zooming, the text of the forum posting
seemed to start moving (optical illusion).
