An exploration of a hybrid fractal. At the beginning the parameters variations make strange bubbles and mechanic/organic shapes. Then the parameters remain the same and some details are being explored.

like it very much, a lot of nice structures. guess a tricorn is involved?

Have to speed it a bit down to see all of these shapes, only the end comes a bit early (as always) smiley

...so keep them coming  grin

No tricorn.

The first iteration is a _Folding1 then all subsequent iterations are an Amazing box. Funny, isn't it?

Yes there is unfortunately some clipping in the front plane, but not a lot honestly smiley
In my next video(s) there will be a lot of back clipping to improve calculation time

Yes, the thin structures reminds strongly of the tip of a mandelbulb, curious.

Thanks for the comments guys. Yes there are indeed very curious and varied structures in this fractal, especially the thin structures at the edge of the cube that remind of the tip of a mandelbrot.

yes - these interesting fine structures seem to me to be the closest yet to the true 3d Mandelbrot....

Hi there

Although Youtube's audioswap feature is currently down so I could not add music to this video, I can't resist posting it.

This is the same fractal as above : a folding, then a mandelbox. It really shows incredible variety so I did this little exploration again, on some other parts of this really amazing cube. Watch in HD and full screen, enjoy, and comments are welcome!

Gorgeous cheesy

I wonder if there is a way (besides trivial interpolation) to generalize the Mbulb, the Mbox and the Folding Kaleidoscope stuff in order to basically have all possibilities by just a set of parameters you could then randomly select, just like an IFS Flame fractal...
