The other project I've been working on lately is MultiX1, a very deep zoom (to a final size of 5-e119) into the Mandelbrot set, based on the image "Metaphase" discovered by Paul Derbyshire, and extended by Stardust4Ever. This is a complex animation sequence demonstrating how to cascade the X-shaped structures in the Metaphase image, ending with 32 of them. All together, 14 animation segments comprise the move/pause sequence in this video.

I rendered this at 1280x720, and have published encodings at bit rates up to 15/20 Mbps in MP4 and WMV on hpdz.net. There is also an insane 60 Mbps file that is just absolutely stunning. It is essentially identical to the raw uncompressed video files, but without the jerkiness that results from the limits of the hard disk read rate when playing back uncompressed 200 Mbps video. The 60 Mbps file is really quite breathtaking. As always, when I specify a resolution for a video file, it contains information-theoretically legitimate data at that resolution.

Visit www.hdpz.net/Animations/MultiX1.htm for all the download options.

I am getting terribly frustrated with YouTube, since multiple uploads have resulted in horrifically garbled audio, but here's a link to a pathetic 2 Mbps upload that STILL has junk in the audio. Really, the native files available at HPDZ.NET are vastly superior to this awful link.
