I usually just fly around, so this time, I figured I'd try out some "morphing".   Post processing done with VirtualDub and Photoshop.

Beautifully smooth! Did you add some motion blur in VirtualDub?

Thanks!  Actually, not motion blur - interpolation.  I thought it was a little too fast at 30fps.  So, I made the frame rate 15fps, but added the interpolate filter to bump it back up to 30fps, which made it twice as long and have that nice blurry effect (which is the 'in-between' frames being mixed).  A great way to stretch your 15fps animations!

The photoshop effects were run first as a batch on the jpgs, where I used the denoise filter, and adjusted exposure.  That gave it a nice smooth texture too.

This is quite mesmerizing, I wish the animation was a lot longer like 5 minutes or so cheesy
It has a distinct acid-psychedelic feel and the music fits very well with those weird mutating shapes.

Oh and thanks for sharing your interpolation tip too !

Yes, thanks for the tip (interpolate filter in VirtualDub). Will try that in my next animation.

Glad I could help!

An afterthought I had was that if you want the motion blur effect in virtualdub, don't use motion blur!  There are no settings for motion blur, as far as I know... so, if you want a motion blur, I would use "temporal smoothing", which has an adjuster from 1 to 10!

Another great filter in virtualdub is the last one in the list "warp sharp".  It can remove noise from low res renders, and just makes things look nicer!  The other one for this is "smoother", but I seem to get better results with warp sharp.

Haha you're right about Virtualdub's motion blur ! Actually this afternoon I tested this filter on a 20 secs animation and it's way too much blurry, this is insane and you loose every details beside a small area in the middle of the video.

However I had great results with the CC force motion blur filter in After Effect (the basic version comes free with the solftware).

Going to try Temporal Smoothing right now cheesy
