I did this video in Mandelbulber 1.19 using the OpenCL rendering engine - it's a Mandelbox dissolving as the scale moves from -1 to -2 and the folding parameters move to 0. 

Since I can't do volumetric lighting with Mandelbulber OpenCL on my Windows Box (crashes at any decent image size) and the algorithm gets glichy on close-up zooms I've been experimenting with animations where the camera stays still at a distance and the whole fractal evolves through different transitions.

Frames were animated using ffmpeg, and then I added a title card and soundtrack in Premiere.
