Now available in high-definition 720p XviD and H.264 (x264) at http://ericbigas.com/fractals/19ht

This is the zoom I entered in the Biocursion DVD contest (http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?topic=383.0).  2 minutes; no sound; low-resolution version on Google Video at <a href="http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docId=-8556043221629997664" target="_blank">http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docId=-8556043221629997664</a>

I believe this is the first fractal zoom distributed in HD.  The only other HD fractal animations I know of are the Dreams in High Fidelity flames at http://hifidreams.com (click on the images on the left), though electric shepherd Scott Draves says flames aren't fractals (http://draves.org/blog/archives/000459.html).

That is one amazing animation, and definitely the first I've ever seen at high definition (AND widescreen aspect ratio).

How long did it take to render? If I did something like that with Ultra Fractal it would've taken about a year.

Thanks much to you both.

It took about two weeks to draw the frames for this movie, Zoom.  By the way, I really like how that long red M-set spike in "Mandelnautics 2" spins out from the centerpoint like a jet's contrail against the blue sky.

Thanks! I was just borrowing a page from that Mandelbrot documentary from years ago for which Pink Floyd did the music. They had lots of renders like that.
