My name is Marc.  My interest in fractals began in the early 90's also enjoy programming and math/science type stuff in general.
I've mostly been a Fractint and Fractal Explorer user.  I have one fractal related freeware program (graphical iteration) available on the web at www.hyperscope.net.

Here's a screenshot of that program;

I just love the way the subject of fractals brings together math, art, computer science and even philosophy.
The FractalForums.com is very interesting.

Best regards,
Marc

though i've greeted you elsewhere on the forums, hi wink

that's a nifty program you've got for visualising the potentially chaotic interaction between two functions when root-finding using the x = f(x) method. such fractal-producing degeneracies/divergence can also be observed with newton iterations (and are the basis for the group of fractals with the same name), which are somewhat rarer but often richer in structure (most likely due to the involvement of the derivative function).

there are a number of other root-finding methods you could add to your program (newton and x=f(x) are the only two "potentially chaotic" ones mentioned in my numerical methods textbook, but there are probably more).

Greetings, and welcome to this particular Forum !!!    cheesy

Since you are a user of FractInt, then you may wish to know about the current development going on to upgrade it into the Windows environment.  The Beta-5 version may be obtained at the following location:
