Hi everyone !

Ive been exploring fractals as an aesthetic pursuit for the last couple of years. I dont have much of a math or programming background, but Im interested in learning a lot more, and there seem to be a lot of knowledgeable, helpful people here  grin
Ive been working in fashion for the last few years, and will be pursuing a BA in architecture in the coming year. Im always looking to expand my artistic endeavours.

I came across fractals in my youth when I bought a couple of fractal posters, and always wondered about what was going on there. About 5 years ago, I came across Fractal explorer, and played around with it a bit. I guess I got bored from not getting instant results, or anything unique right away. A couple of years later I gave it another shot, and found a lot more than I had originally. I also discovered that I could animate the fractals. I was instantly hooked.

My main interest with fractals is the infinite range of textures, from the mechanical, to the organic, to the just plain weird. Ive also been blown away by the familiarity of the patterns and enjoy bumping into them in everyday life. Some of the work Ive seen around the interweb has blown me away, particularly Jock Coopers videos. And Im really excited to see that Biocursion is finished- and cant wait to get my hand on a copy.

Over the last two years Ive been compiling clips of some of the animations Ive been making, and mixing them into a movie (quantum anomalies). Right now, Im working on post-production, creating titles, menus, and dealing with compression issues.
On my next movie, I hope to expand on this theme, and will broaden the scope to include video feedback, cellular automata, crystal growth, l-systems and other related ideas.

I hope to share some of my creations with every one. Im in the process of setting up a new gallery and webspace to host my image and video gallery. In the meantime, some of my work can be found here(the fractal images are very small)

Ive also posted some tracks from my movie in the video forum

Im looking forward to connecting and collaborating with all you other fractaliens!

Hello and Welcome.

It's nice to meet another compulsive animator!

I watched some animation, and will view the rest as time permits. (employment beckons...)  Nicely done!

Thanks for sharing!

Peace.
