This post is about one of the earliest supporters of fractal art and fractal theory in general Paul N. Lee has died 2 weeks ago after fighting against cancer. He was known as user "Nahee_Enterprises" https://www.facebook.com/Nahee.Enterprises/posts/10153145857955059Starting his web presence in the year of 1994 he collected huge informations about programs of that time and continued to collect informations about fractal software and the people behind it on his website. He was one of the first registered members of this forums and was one of the supporters that made this forum what it is today! http://www.nahee.com/Fractals/Farewell and Rest In Peace Paul!

Paul was kind and understanding of my excitement as I learned the ropes here on the forums. I was wandering around his site (around 2009- and most likely in Nov. 2007, when I got this computer) before I found the forums. I was just reading Paul's stuff back in October, and found this nice introduction he wrote which describes him quite well. You'll like it (has a photo of Paul from a while back too): https://www.blogger.com/profile/08898206387741732050

I only found out he was seriously ill yesterday, and now this today.
We butted heads more than we agreed on things, but there was always a respect there.
Farewell Paul.
See you in the next iteration.

Paul has a Facebook page on which people are leaving thoughts and other messages, if you're so inclined.

I noticed that he hadn't been here for a long time, its sad to hear he passed.
Although I cant remember any convesations with him he was one of the major contributors on this forum (and fractals as a subject in general). And I do remember his as that active contributor.

Oh I'm really shocked to read this! I'm so sorry. I use to go to his website if I wanted to either download something or read about it. He was such a friendly man and always willing to help anyone. I wish their family strength to deal with this great loss.

Sad to hear the news, I am yet another who was greatly assisted by his web site. And I enjoyed his sense of humour (which was not always "politically correct" R.I.P.

This is an appropriate video to watch, and you'll see why if you read Paul's bio that I posted, in addition to watching this video through to the end (it's set to the correct time, but it will take a minute or 2 before you see the connection, don't jump to conclusions because this part of the video is about another who contributed a great deal, Benoit Mandelbrot). Apparently setting the time does not work here, so skip to 12 minutes in.

Sad indeed, never had much contact with Paul, but was often amused by his greetings to newcomers "...to this particular forum".
