Nice tower-zoom too! How "many decimals" are you down to in that one?
I don't know, I'm just using Dave Makin's formula for UF.

a minibulb in the "garden" area inside another minibulb

So this is the real thing? the "garden" area = the "garden" in my first image?

J
Yes.

Anybody has identified and classified the classic "zoo" of the Mandelbuld (whatever order) and their properties?
- Tower/Crater
- Garden
- Bulbs
-...

...Minibulbs
...Skirts? (The tower sides)
...and off course, my FRUIT CASE wink
...and the things in the crater...huh?

J

And here ist another view of the tower, which is the "path to infinity" from the outer side.

Where on the tower is that trafassel?
And (sorry if I should know...) what do you mean by "path to infinity"?

With tower i mean the "Mandelbulb Spine" from the first mandelbulb page on skytopia. And the "path to infinity" is a picture in the gallery.

This picture is from the top of the tower.

Hey that really is (a front view of) the 'Spine'. Nice!

(Like the colours and shape in the first pic in this thread too, though it does look like an 'outside' pic ( ? ) ).

What shapes happen on the border between brocoli and tower? smiley

And did I get you right? The first of the last two images is inside a minibulb of a minibulb?

Well, as far as i can see it is "inside" the minibulb (see image), so it is still "connected" to the outside, I did a high res panoramic image of the place this weekend where one can see through the round "hole" with a "christmas tree" (in the middle of the white frame) to the outside. I will post the panorama later today!

Bib:s image should be a minibulb inside a minibulb...
Mine is just the "inside" of a minibulb...  afro

Correct. But using Isokron's program, I could also go really INSIDE the minibulb of a minibulb of a minibulb of a minibulb (4 times before I hit the resolution limit) smiley

Here is the full panorama
It starts at the image you could see in my first post
And a still image showing that you can see the broccoli on the outside...
...therefore I am still at the outside of the bulb, but also inside a minibulb.
The original high-res panorama is a 987 MB Tiff-image ( 28490x12113 pixels)
So this is a very compressed version.

Those bulbous almost-spherical parts sprout much fractal detail before the whipped cream takes hold (similar to the smooth bulbous/elliptical bits on the standard 2D Mandelbrot).
