hello, i am using my time to explore the possibilities of mandelbulb3d, the amazing program,
i have some issues with the program:

- the first is, how do i reset a formula, e.g. i have set up 3 alternating formulas, and want to remove the third of it, do i have to reset the iteration counter ?
--> a remove button would be great
- additionally, it would be great to have to formula panes completely dynamic, i mean not that fixed 5 panes as default, rather an "add formula" button
- why is hybrid interpolation limited to 2 formulas ?
- an option to automatically update the 2d view of the formula would be great, i usually have to use right/left mouse button to update the rendering, making a zoom which is not always desirable
---> an "render 2d" button would be great

afro merry xmas, and dont hurry, just a few hints would be great!
thx

Hi Trifox,

Just give the iteration count a zero, i should at least mention this in the program description - my fault.
(Remove button is not a bad idea either)

It would be still limited to 6 panes because of a fixed record structure to speed up iterating.
I think if i can make a formula editor for own creations, 6 alternates are still very comfortable.

Mainly speed issues, i think this type is not often used either.
And not to much fun writing it.

You can render 2d planes all the times with the little buttons beside the Zstart, Zmid and Zend values.  Where Zmid is the common 2d plane and with the others you can proof your start and end plane for 3d rendering for objects that will be cut.

ah, thank you, didnt knew the 2d rendering is triggered by that, buttons for x/z y/z planes would also be useful wink

An "Undo" button would also be really helpful. cheesy

There are! One for your rendering mistakes grin which is above the "Calculate 3D" button and one for your colouring f**k ups in the lighting pane (Next to the "M" button at the bottom)

P.S: I do use the interpolated hybrid sometimes.

you can rotate at the mid-values with 90 degrees to get these planes, use the arrow buttons below the image  smiley

I also use the interpolation function, and sometimes I would have liked to be able to interpolate 2 alternated hybrids together  evil

Yes, I have been using undo (& redo) a lot lately!  Especially in the lighting panel...

I figured out the zero iterations thing a while back to clear a formula.  But, I don't think you need a "reset" button necessarily.  The first time I tried to reset a formula, I went to the drop-down to restore it to blank like it was before - and I think that makes sense.   You can just leave the blank as a formula option in the drop-down, like it is when you start the program.  Even if they blank out the only formula, its the same as setting your single formula to zero iterations, which yields an error in the render window already.

Thanks for the tip! I had never noticed there was a redo function using the right click shocked
@Jesse, traditionally there are 2 buttons!

lol, poor jesse, an option for interpolation would also be cool, LERP, or SLERP, Linear or SphericalLinearInterpolation wink

additionally, i have to mention that working with keyframes is a bit confusing, because only the center/middle keyframe can be moved, why
arent there swap/move buttons beside each visible keyframes wink
