MB3D stopped once ended (less 2 s) the computation of VL. I had to close the program with the Task Manager.
This happened when I tried to make a relatively large render 3200x2400. Smaller renders, like in the attached formula present no problem. I am running an i7 with 12 Gb of memory, so I figure RAM this is not the problem.
Did I do something wrong, again?

I never had M3D crash completely, but your parameter set does produce issues that I encounter too with other parameter sets. If I render your set, the "calculating volumetric light" dialog never finishes, although M3D starts to render the image. There are other issues with volumetric light. The problem is that they are not always easily reproducible. Things that happen to me (especially, but not limited to DE combinate hybrids) are: Volumetric light dialog does not disappear when rendering starts; rerendering saved m3i files bypasses the volumetric light calculation and there sometimes is an issue with the combination of reflections and volumetric light. Come to think of it, the 2nd issue I mentioned is reproducible, so I might try to send the m3i file to jesse.

This has been most likely the problem in my case. I started the fractal rendering and left for lunch, and the image is what I saw when opening again MB3D. As I see no remaining time indication, probably the rendering completed the way you mention.

This happens to me as well when I minimized MB3D, and the VL finished calculating while MB3d is minimized. I solved this by letting VL finish calc while MB3d is MAXIMIZED then I minimize it. Try leaving MB3D maximized until VL completes., this might work.
Also, you can turn off the light you use for VL after the main render starts, in case it is very bright, and you can't see what your fractal might look like when done. Just remember to turn it back on again if you need to re-render. This might be the cause of MB3D "bypassing" or nor calculating VL - the VL light has to be on, as you know.
In the attached screenshot, I rendered your params and let VL finish while MB3D is minimized. You can see the VL dialog box, and you can see that the fractal is rendering by the times in the lower right corner.

That is an interesting image, I hope to see it full size posted here, or elsewhere in the future.
Have fun with MB3D, it sure is fun, isn't it?!

@stonevoice
Thank you for your comments! I will try your tips but most probably I will go around the VL which in this case is not 100% needed.
I will be posting the result hopefully soon. smiley
