Hi,
as I said a few days earlier, here is an update to my wrapper !
compared to the last version, here's what have changed :
-tried to improve the look with windows xp style (instead of win 95)
-better compatibility with copied parameters (should work correctly now)
-comes bundled with mandelbulb3d 1.8
-it can be updated (you can do it yourself without specific knowledge)
-smaller than the previous version (better compression + less useless dll)

you want the link, right ?
here it is : http://www.mediafire.com/?q1nqene1qh49yn7

please give me your feedbacks smiley

ps : please don't move this thread : I think it should stay with mandelbulb even though it also has to do with multi platform

Thanks for making this sticky !!
I'm glad you like it, I hope it will be useful
just one question for those who already downloaded this : is the readme clear enough or should I explain a bit more ?
also, if you need to get any other app ported, just ask, I'll see what I can do smiley

Skyrim so Steam is not required ?
Well, you did ask !

Edit: I don't mean anything illegal, I just mean so I can install and run my collectors DVD version on the Mac without using Steam.

Hi Slock,

first of all thank you very much for your updated Mandelbulb wrapper.
It works like a charm with the latest Mandelbulb3d 1.8.2

Is it possible that you also release an updated "universal" wrapper like the one you released ages ago in this tread ? :

http://www.fractalforums.com/multi-platform/run-almost-any-fractal-program-on-mac-!/msg41457/

I really like the idea to have ONE universal wrapper for all my windows programs.
The problem is that the latest mandelbulb version have some problems with this "old" universal wrapper.

I think the "new" wrapper you released here is only a specific version for mandelbulb3d.
It would be really cool to have an updated universal wrapper too.

Best regards,
Manuel

Hi
Just sais in DM that a new version of the universal wrapper is coming, but it's harder to make than a simple, one app wrapper since I have to deal with compatibility, size, copyright, ...
Well a lot of things !
For skyrim, I think there is a wrapper on theportingteam website, nether tried it
I also have my own wrapper (altogether with my oblivion and morrowind one Grin with closed eyes working on arena and dagerfall)

Slock, thank you thank you thank you. This is wonderful and works beautifully on my 2.4 Ghz MacBook Pro using Lion 10.4.7. It works fine with my existing formulas, parameters, and animation files. It actually runs a bit faster than on my Win7 laptop. Wine doesn't seem to distract from performance. Only minor irritations here and there, mostly because of file location confusion.

So, with Jesse making this the coolest tool in town, and Slock making it work in the suburbs :-), I am happy as a clam and grateful to you both.

I found the cubetubeIFS formula today, and am having a lot of fun with zooming about using the 360 lens, and I am just amazed. The fun never ends! Now I can still explore while running a 2 day rendering!

My latest exclamation: "Mandelbulb3d: It would make Dali delirious, give Escher vertigo, and drive Magritte around the bend."

well thanks for your feedback !
I made my best to keep this wrapper as fast and stable as possible, while keeping the update function.
about the universal wrapper, it will come in two flavors : a standard version (around 1,4Go uncompressed) focusing on compatibility (games, 3D, ...) and another one, lite (around 150Mo uncompressed) that should fit for basic use
(btw I also remade the icon)

Thank you. Thank you so very much for your work. I can't believe I can run M3D now (I've been running Mandelbulber for a year which is fantastic as well).

Just... thank you so very much Slock.

When  tried to install this "wrapper?", I got this prompt. What should I do?
