I did a short test of this and it seems to work but I'd like to ask to find out if this is correct.  =)

I am creating an animation and when I started I was going to make it 30 frames per second. I'm rendering it at 1920x1080, AA2, Hard Shadows, Ambient Shadows, and DoF and each frame is taking roughly 10 minutes... so not a lot of time but long enough because it's about 10,000 frames. I'm about 500 frames into it so I could start again if I had to.

As I said, I originally intended it to be 30fps but I'm thinking of making it 60fps for a smoother look. I've used an increment setting of 1 and I'm using Bezier Interpolation.

I've got a program (ThumbsPlus) that will batch rename the files so that's not a problem. I've also tested renaming them to 1,3,5,7... instead of 1,2,3,4... then keeping the File Index Increment at 1, increasing the SubFrames to 240 (from 120) and starting the animation again with Overwriting Existing Images turned off and it fills in the gaps.

My question is - if I increase the number of SubFrames, will the Bezier Path change? Or to put it another way - if I were to create an animation with 5 KeyFrames and 10 SubFrames between KeyFrames and an Increment of 24... render the animation... and then change the SubFrames to 240 and the Increment to 1 (with Overwriting Existing Images turned off) and restart the animation, would the camera path remain the same? Would the new in-between frames blend smoothly into the original camera path or would I get a judder every 24 frames?

As I said - I did a short test and it seemed to work okay (I didn't notice any juddering) but I was rendering it at a low resolution with no AA so it was hard to tell.

I'd like to complete the animation as is at 120 SubFrames so that I could have a complete movie and then go back and increase it to 240 (or even 360) SubFrames and fill in the gaps for a smoother animation at some point in the future... when I can render the whole thing in 15 seconds on my cell phone. lol

Doubling framecount and rendering only the missing images (no file overwrite) does work. Can't remember whether the existing images should be renamed to 1,3,5.. or to 2,4,6..

Found it:
The already rendered frames should have uneven numbers 1,3,5,7...
Because of overwrite lock only the even frames 2,4,6,8... are rendered.
