Thanks Johan... It's good for coming winter then.    As for the winner, I suggest Benoit Mandelbrot.

Good suggestion! I propose he shares it with Daniel White and Paul Nylander!
But I must say that Taurus Zippo http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=9304 is up there too, very nice homage!... and all others who made beautiful renders (still miss one from Lenord though...)

Thanks Johan, glag you liked it! i take it as a honorable mention besides the winners. but there are two other guys we must not forget: dancing bananadancing chilli
Jens Dierks aka Jesse and Krzysztof Marczak aka Buddhi. some of us (me for sure) could not even take part on contests like this, without the software they make available to us - for free!  A Beer Cup

Absolutely right! ....but I wonder if they had ever developed these programs without the finding of the mandelbulb... wink
I remember Jesses and Buddhis early renders.
Maybe sooner or later, but we might not have them today...

Your possibly right. we could honor them all the time, at least when we publish images - that'll be inflationary.
so i "only" provide my personal thank to the  dancing banana masters dancing chilli of programming...  A Beer Cup
