Hellooooo one and all  afro

So next week Friday I'll be getting the mandelbrot set as a tattoo. The thing is, I want to continue it and turn my back into a fractal art canvas. So what I thought was, you guys could all use your 2D software to come up with a beautiful (or several beautiful) designs, with the mandelbrot intended for below my neck, on my back. (It will be 13 cm height). Black and white.

Hmm.. I'll include three quick options I came up with in Fractal Extreme, using the NovaM set, as well as the basic mandelbrot I'll be getting next week.

Hope you guys can help! cheesy

Whichever designs you guys do, please save them in the programs file format too, (preferably with Fractal Extreme) so that I can open them up here.

Thanks! smiley

Hmm.. I'm actually thinking of getting a fractal tree instead. But it must be so that it can be worked on later and developed into a nice big fractal design on my back... Difficult!

Why not confuse (almost) everybody and get this:

You could use this shape around the mandlebrot so when people focus on the mandlebrot in the center and walk towards or away from you the shape around it will appear to rotate around the mandlebrot. Look at the center of this drawing and move your face towards and away from the screen and it will look like it rotates. I've worked with some tatoo shops in Washington to make this tatoo with different shapes at the center so people eyes focus there. It works on a body because it does not have to be on a perfectly flat surface. You will win any tatoo contest the you enter because no one has tatoo's that really look like they move with optical illusions. I hope this helps. Good luck in your search smiley

It can be any size. The one I drew has a diameter of about 15 inches. But it could go between the scapulas and work just fine. When they do the tatoo they have to make sure to have the shading the same and the angles just like the drawing. Thoses tatoo artists are pretty amazing so I'm sure they will have no problem drawing it. Whatever design you go with will be cool. Having a mandlebrot tatoo is best idea I've ever heard for a tatoo. Happy holidays.

Hey guys!  cool

I'm sorry for replying so late! ... I got busy season time and was just not checking my regular stuff... You know how it is...  agree

So I got this in the end: http://mandelubber.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html

Nice and simple =) ... And I never really knew just how expensive a tattoo was! ... So will work on it more according to budget...
But now, Jason, that pattern you have there has me intrigued! I want to actually try different variations of the same concept and see if I can get something more fractaly looking Grin with closed eyes .. Thanks for the amazing tip.

And Sock, no, hehe, not for me... But good idea anyway since now it seems Trifox wants one A Beer Cup

If you have a google account, please go ahead and comment on (and follow grin ) my blog... A Beer Cup A Beer Cup A Beer Cup
