Hi,

I started using Mandelbulber under Linux (compiled the source myself) with version 0.2
and was *very* excited to get this program -- the renderings are simply wonderful!

I downloaded the archive of gradients and presets from this site and start experimenting by
starting the gui of Mandelbulber (I have to keep track of my fingers to not to write
"Mandelburger" by accident...the words are typed that similiary... wink wink wink  ).

When loading certain presets I was warned when loaded, cause those were created
with a Mandelbulber of a different version.

Some do render without any problems, others produce "different uniform colors" (sorry,
English is not my mothers tongue...).

Then a wrote a little script which starts Mandelbulber as commandline tool for each
preset I got to produce an image.

And: There were presets, which previously fail to render a fractal which now produce
wonderful images....

If wanted I will sent such a preset as an example...dont hesitate to ask.

How can I make those presetes work in interactive (gui) mode of Mandelbulber?

Thank you very much for this wonderful program and thank you very
much in advance for any help!

Best regards,
mcc

There are some problems with rendering these example files, becase some of them were created with much older version of Mandelbulber. There were a lot of major changes in program since that time. Not everytning is compatible.

They render well when Mandelbulber is called from the commandline.
They wont render when using the same version of Mandelbulber but with the gui.
So I think the problem is not the version of Mandelbulber, which is used.
There must be a difference when the preset is loaded via the gui compared
to loading the same preset via the commandline...

Thank you for finding this problem. You are right. There was a small bug in program. In LoadSettings() function there is implemented function for converting "old style" Mandelbox parameters, but because of mistake it worked only in noGui mode. It will be corrected in next version.
