What does everybody think of this image? It's a Julia set (actually the neighborhood of a Julia set) taken from the cleft of the main cardioid ("elephant valley") It's a zoom into one of the spiral arms (trunks?) of the shapes there. It's taken from a baby mandelbrot in the cleft of another baby mandelbrot found on one of those spiral arms.

Th C point of the plot is 0.2650393607207308, 0.003034021619132559. The plot is a zoom into the center of the Julia set, at a magnification of about 4e-3.

The plot was colored using the escape time (iteration value) for each pixel plotted. Colors were assigned using a histogram for the plot, so that the color change between iteration values is relative to the number of pixels in the plot with each iteration value. The outermost color band uses alternating blue and white stripes for each iteration value, in order to create the striped effect.

If you have FractalWorks 4.0 or later you can generate the plot on your computer by clicking here.

A very nice find you have made and rendered.  And like Thomas Ludwig (lycium) stated, the center structure came out very well indeed.
