Can someone advise? I don't see anything in the profile settings to indicate what, if any, size limits there might be for personally created Avatars...  alien

Avatars larger than 80px by 100px get resized. I don't know of a limit on file weight; it can't be very restrictive, because some people use animated GIFs.

I could never get the "I will upload my own picture" option to work right, so I'd suggest the "I have my own pic" selection. First you'll need to put the picture on the web somewhere, e.g., Photobucket, ImageShack, or your Fractal Forums gallery.

LOL, I finally got it working... It's distorted but I'll work on creating the "ideal" avatar...  grin

I like your avatar; it's got a neat pair of eyes.

The picture may seem distorted because the 100px by 80px original is being resized to 80px by 100px.

Yeh, I discovered that little issue after the icon began showing...lol. I still like it, though, I softened the original wild color scheme a bit by use of my graphic arts program  angel
