I uploaded a mandelbrot fractal to my gallery but its not showing. Its a tribute to Benoit Mandelbrot.
When I go to My Gallery> My Images I see this next to it, but no image:

I have had this happen before.

It is either wrong format, wrong size, or wrong bites.
It must be jpg, png, (not saved with Photoshop [save for web instead])
1200x1200 at the most and 500 kb.

It's there

Looks like something hiccupped and the thumbnail is not showing.  This happens on rare occasions when stuff like a connection reset or interrupt happen during the process of getting it posted.

If you like, just delete it and try again.

To get to the image, I clicked on the "0" next to comments, and you can do the same to edit it or delete it and try again.

Unfortunately the thumbnails can't be edited, so the only options are to delete and try again, or leave it as it is.

The Gallery is due for an upgrade soon - but all the old stuff will still be there.

Hope that helps.

@Cyclops, sorry please ignore my previous reply.
@ Sock, I hope we get more space and can upload larger files and movies too.

@thunderwave i hope it too wink

no, the web space is about 5gig out of 10gig right now, the webspace package i own is limited, and right now the board is covering costs

but for a real print-quality gallery there wont be enough space, nor there will be infrastructure for that

i am sorry for that, because the gallery is a flourishing place here at the forums, the gallery update will cost 50$ and right now i do not have time/money to spend for
that, but the update is planned, sorry for inconvenience!

Trifox, would it not save webspace if we used our own hosting sites, like photobucket, flickr etc?

yay, that would save space, but this way you do not get comments here on the board, but if you have a bunch of images and you hard link them in an article, or include them as
images, that would be fine!

Comments are by no means required.

They just happened to be mentioned twice in this thread for unrelated reasons  evil

This was just a case of the forum gallery software not working properly.  I still suggest deleting and reuploading the image if you want a thumbnail to show.  Beyond that, you could just leave it like it is.

The thing is I add images to the Gallery>My Images but then I still havre to go into Showcase my Image and add the url of the pic there-which means I'm adding the pic twice!
