  This is a 3d complex triplex absolute value modification... and it's got some nice.. very nice structures.  It has the classic 2d z^2 Mandelbrot cross section, although because of the y axis interaction with the z axis (at z=0*) there is only one (which is to be expected, and it definitely benefits the fractal as it has additional details to explore due to this fact).  

  * At z=0, for    complex_2 = (y + i z)^2 + pixel y + i pixel z   you end up with a new y component of -z^2 after one iteration which influences the whole calculation.
