"Fractal Weave" sculpture costly

The new piece by local artist David Jensz, titled "Fractal Weave", was commissioned for the soon-to-be completed Civic Library & Link project in Civic Square.

It comprises two curved planes, "woven" from copper pipe five metres wide by two metres high.

Chief Minister and Minister for the Arts Jon Stanhope announced the new $220,000 public artwork saying: "The artwork will rest lightly and delicately on the Canberra Theatre podium and welcome people as they enter the library and theatre.

"It is anticipated that the artwork will be installed ready for the opening of the Civic Library & Link in September."
