The virus cells have a higher metabolic rate than our cells.
This is because the virus cells surface has a fractal dimension (unlike our smoother rounder cells)

The link to the article on my blog covers in depth a paper that was written to explain how nano drugs can be absorbed by the virus cells making their surface smoother and increasing their dimension towards 2 - thus making them harmless!!!

More fatal because they become more fractal! 
The Hn complex protein sits on the surface of a virus; making it more rough & irregular.  3d & more fractal. The receptor moecules on the surface of all viruses are fractal. If researchers can solve one HN structure they can probably solve them all.  That's were fractals in can do a lot for medical research.  I believe BT posted a similar thread just below.  Fascinating stuff.
