This is the proof that maya totally knew about 3D Mandelbrot (btw, you can't prove that they don't  grin ), and this picture show what they predicted for the day after 2012 ... kinda  wink

The 3200x1600 version (5.5MB) can be found here : http://fractals.s3.amazonaws.com/mandelbox/mandelbox-2012-the-core-3200x1600.jpg

The motivation behind this picture come from the Tims's reviews on orbit trap : http://orbittrap.ca/?p=1161
It was finely crafted (by my cpu) according to what he seems to enjoy in 3D Fractal : Landscape, aerial perspective, differents kinds of shape, an architecture (the "core").

I believe he will like it.
And, according to my tastes, this is my best fractal ... for now  grin

Technical details :
Mandelbulber 0.5
Formula : TGlad's Mandelbox
Power : -2.5
Folding limit : 1, Folding Value : 2
No ambiant occlusion, low light intensity, 0.5 ambiant,  0 specularity, 0 reflect, lot of red/yellow glow (obviously), no FOG, no DOF, no aux light.
