what you are seeing here is very similar to what you'd get if you observed the path of one body from another, both orbiting a central body
astronomers call this retrograde orbit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apparent_retrograde_motion
this was something that confused the hell out of astronomers prior to copernicus.

however, as is consistent with a multi-orbit system, yours has chaotic perturbatuions
