I forgot to mention, an article about the Mandelbulb was published in the French magazine Science & Vie (Science & Life) in February.

My french is only just good enough to state with some confidence that those two authors did not plagiarize each other. smiley There does not seem to be a detailed guide to the construction of the formula in the French article, no?

A missed opportunity to recruit even more minds for the ... fractal crusade.

...on the other hand, they used that same zoom sequence for the Mandelbrot which is on Wikipedia, YouTube, etc... I'm glad about the publicity though!  wink
