Did this quick rendering within QuaSZ-x64 while I was waiting on some downloads to finish. Maybe a bit dark for some people's taste, but I like it that way.

WOW, that is beautiful! I havent been to this forum for a long time, but now that I see these amazing 3D images and now that I have a brand new Mac, I am now interested in learning how to make them.
I had an older version of QuaSZ a few years ago, but that Mac is gone. I am a beginner at this and have not a clue about the math, but would just LOVE to learn how to do these. Is it possible for me to use the software and learn this? I can do Photoshop and the like, but anything with math, whew not for me. Thank you, Jane

WOW, that is beautiful! Thanks, but it was just a quickie. I haven't been to this forum for a long time, but now that I see these amazing 3D images, and now that I have a brand new Mac, I am now interested in learning how to make them. I had an older version of QuaSZ a few years ago, but that Mac is gone. I do not believe Terry has yet incorporated the Mandelbulb formulas into the Mac versions of his fractal applications. But these days, the new Macs can usually run many Windows based programs in a virtual mode. And that would allow you to try out the latest release of QuaSZ as a TRIAL. He has both 32-bit and 64-bit versions available, and they should have all of the built-in Mandelbulb formulas. http://www.mysticfractal.com/Programs.html

Thank you for the info! I did download the QuaSZ trial version for Mac. I wonder if this one has the Mandelbulb in it? I should purchase the whole version, I think I had it on my Mac that went away with a broken motherboard. These Mandlebulbs are sure spectacular. I am hoping that I can learn how to do them too. I forget about this new ability to run Windows programs on the new Macs, here is one that I would just love to learn too,,,,,,,I always have been fascinated by ----XenoDream----, and now realize that I might be able to run that one on my new Intel Mac. Need to do a bit more studying first, as this is pretty new to me. This is my favourite gallery, http://www.xenodream.com/march04.htmThanks again, Jane ps my grandkids would be pretty impressed to see these when I learn how to do them.

But the Windows TRIAL version does have the Mandelbulb formulas (U0 thru U7) under the built-in functions. These Mandlebulbs are sure spectacular. I am hoping that I can learn how to do them too. Not too much to learn once you have the built-in formulas. Just a matter of getting a few field settings the way you want them to be. I can even supply you with a sample parameter file to get you started. ....here is one that I would just love to learn too,,,,,,, I always have been fascinated by ----XenoDream----, and now realize that I might be able to run that one on my new Intel Mac. Garth has a Windows beta of this as well for you to download. And yes, it is a fun application to play with.

Oh, this is great, thank you! I wouldnt know what to do with the parameter, not gotten that far yet. Though I should buy the program, it went away with the old Mac.
I looked at Garth's site and I couldnt find anything new, but WOW, if he has something for Mac that I could download, I sure would go for that! Im leery of buying the Parallels or the BootCamp stuff for my Mac, and really dont want to mess around with Windows. And I would have to purchase different versions of Photoshop and other things, so would rather wait for Mac versions to be written. Astounding as how many Macs are being bought, even by my kids who are die-hard Windows people.
I will get going with Garth's site now, and then will look at the tutorials on your site for XenoDream. Im in the middle of some PHotoshop classes, so If I dont get started right away, I will soon. Thanks! Jane

I got a Dell Inspiron 17 with 4G of ram and Windows 7! So now I can join the Windows fractal people. Though I sure am struggling with learning W7. To my knowledge, the Mac version has not been updated yet. But the Windows TRIAL version does have the Mandelbulb formulas (U0 thru U7) under the built-in functions. I would love to try this, could you refresh my memory with the link to the site for it? I'm using a new Mac and don't have many of my bookmarks any more. Thank you, Jane

Not sure which Inspiron 17 that you got, so I am assuming it might have the 64-bit Home Premium version of Windows installed on it. (You can check by going to START ==> Control Panel ==> Security & System and looking under the System area to see if 32-bit or 64-bit.) Anyway... Terry has three of his programs available as both 32-bit and 64-bit: - QuaSZ
- Fractal Zplot
- Fractal Imaginator
And all of the rest of his applications are 32-bit, but they still should run on a 64-bit Windows OS. You can see the index of programs by going to this location: http://www.mysticfractal.com/Programs.html There will be another link on each of the program's web pages to where the TRIAL copies may be obtained.

I got so busy around here with the storm and cutting trees and being without power, that I never even thought about my computer. But when I do, I sure will be asking questions! Sure looking forward to this. Thank you, Jane
