A small but fun update.
All "TheRedShifter" formulas are updated with an arbitrary constant for the Power 2 part in the forumla
a*z^2 +/- z^n + c
(except formula 3 which already has a=2)

Now you can create an unique formula and zoom as deep as you want into it
(almost wink)

Get it from http://www.chillheimer.de/kallesfraktaler

Thank you, tomorrow I will test them. (I will be back home from vacation and able to use a computer again) I cannot wait to have a look at them.

This is a great addition to what I have requested. Thank you again.

Fun!

I made a movie with the first RedShiftRider formula and a=0.5.

Unfortunately the program was crashing a lot as I zoomed in, and I gave up before I quite got to the final minibrot. (I guess this is a tricky area, as so much of the pattern is made up of 'inside' areas.)

Wow
Those black areas are minibrot material so it must have taken a long time to render this?
I tried the location and it doesn't crash, though the program hangs in a strange way...

It's not too bad on the render time, really -- the iterations in the black areas are only a few thousand most of the way. And yes, it's really a hang rather than a crash, but as I had to close the program to get out of it, it comes to pretty much the same thing. If it wasn't for the recovery function I'd never have made it this far -- it happened about a dozen times on the way down.
