Hi,

I'm trying to create an animation of flying around the Mandelbulb Classic Power 2 fractal, and the image quality just is not good.  I've played with parameters to get something that will render in a reasonable amount of time, be of good image quality and not take all day to generate 30 seconds of video.  Running at 800 X 600, speed 0.03, 10 seconds per frame, but even rendering a stand alone image it is not clear and lots of ill-defined "flotsam"  floating around.

Any thoughts on how to improve this?

thanks,

Phil J.

Unfortunately this fractal is difficult for rendering, because accuracy of distance estimation is limited. When I render this fractal I normally use 'Raymarching step multiplier' = 0.2 (parameter on Rendering engine tab). Quality will be good, but it will be about 1 minute to render one frame.
By the way, you have to be more patient for rendering animations. I know people who waited several moths to render complete animation. When I render animations I usually wait about 2-3 weeks to render all frames.

Thanks for the advice!  I will try rendering with raymarching step multiplier of 0.2.  I will work on the patience part too, not my strong point...

thanks,
