I think I have beaten the rendering code into shape. A friend donated some QT Raw format writing code, so I will try to make some movies now.

Here is one "last" snapshot:

Very nice image... a bit of contrast would reveal the details even better:
Took it rather far, so the saturation should be taken down a bit...

mr bad at maths, better at photoshop wink

Had problems uploading the image, had to put it on flickr, hope you don´t mind... if so I will remove it!

NP & thanks. The rendering settings were this dark as we were looking for desktop wallpapers. The thought has struck me to make HDR renderings (float pr pixel) - but I am wondering which file formats and image processing software would be most suitable for this kind of work. Any suggestions ?

That's funny, I rendered a very similar picture (shapes & colors) a few days ago (as part of a 16-pictures hi-res panorama)

OK, I see..

HDR would be übercool, jpeg or tiff would be OK.
For HDR I use Photomatix Pro (on Mac) best results/gui so far for me, but I guess there are plenty of apps out there.

Very interesting image, looking forward to your animations and HDR:s
