The Phoenix formula dates back to early FractInt days, and is also a fractal with a power function:

z = z^p + c + distort*oldz

where distort is a complex number and oldz is the z value from the previous iteration. Here is a sample image with a Julia seed of 0.8, a distort value of -0.5 and a power of 6. It sort of looks like a fruit platter.
