This is made by replacing the points of a star with a star whose points are also constructed that way. (recurse indefinitely.) Assuredly self-similar! Done using postscript as a language.
Here is the seven pointed star rendered as a blob.  The bays which resemble Mandelbrot sets are interesting.


Finally, this image is a composite, revealing the underlying structure of the figure:

Assuming by UF you mean UltraFractal, the answer is no--I used Adobe Postscript.  Check the last graphic in the post to see the code.  That's it!

Thanks for feedback and patience with me John :-)))
It seems to me I was a bit stupid to ask this.

Whenever I have not any experience with Adobe here, it became clear for me at last that it was not Ultra Fractal you used .

But again my compliments - its fascinating ! :-)
