i had a look through it yesterday, and its coverage of DE was... well, first of all largely focused on quaternions, which doesn't help us and also means the book is chock full of quaternion analysis undecided

The general approach works for a wide variety of 3D objects. I use them in my Ultrafractal 5 object oriented raytrace code (several applications), and it works quite well.
