Fractal 3D Chess Set

http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=16728

As some of you know I am preparing for a one man show in Feb next year. The college (Washington and Lee, Lexington, VA) had asked me  to make a short 3D film to be shown in their computer lab and I finished a trip inside the brain which included a lot of Mandelbulb 3D stuff mixed with Aftere Effects and Cinema 4D...very cool but hard to post as its stereo. They also asked me to make some objects that can be 3D printed as art forms for the show. While there will be a few separate 3D printed “sculptures”, I decided to design a 3D fractal chess set. I will also make a 3D lenticular fractal chess board to complete the set. The attached render is not a photo of the objects but a ray traced rendering. The files have been submitted for rendering and I await the results, but thought I'd share the set here. Render is in Cinema 4D
I’m quite pleased with the look of the set.

Knight, King, Queen, Bishop, Rook and in front the Pawn
