Just joined and introducing myself

Having just become interested in fractals I joined this group to learn more. Boy, have I got some catching up to do, so please bare with me if I seem unlearned, because I am. I do have a background in mathematics thru quantitative analysis but that was 40 yrs ago and like all languages, you use it or lose it. But hopefully I will be able to contribute to the discussion in time. For now I am in learning mode so if I ask stupid questions please forgive my ignorance.

As I am just a user and the last time I did any programming I used Dos decades ago, I'm happy to say that for as far as I can tell there are no stupid questions here,  as should be in the 'real world'
