Opal

A Triskelion parameter-space slice. Color blends points picked from three gradients, two pastel and one with bold colors, based on closest approach to each of three points: the cube roots of unity. This produced an opalescent coloration of the overall fractal, hence its name. Smooth areas have one or more stable attractors dominate the Riemann sphere; tendrils and flecks occur where basin boundary regions pass near the origin; foggy regions occur where the Julia set is the whole Riemann sphere and no stable attractors exist; and mini Mandelbrots occur where zero itself governs the bifurcation of an attractor.
