I've recently discovered Victim of Leisure's program Whorld.
Here's a movie created in Whorld, and edited with Sony Vegas Platinum.

Let me know what you think!

Are those fractals?

Trifox seems to consider them fractals of a sort.
They are geometric progressions, and do show
self-similarity in their pattern repetitions so I
would guess they qualify.  I asked Trifox if it
was ok to post this here, as I wasn't totally
sure myself.

I'd ask the program creator, who's also a member
what his answer to the question is; he also is the
author of the program Fractice.

as with everything, mentioning some sort of fractal or image creation method is ok, but some people do not know when spamming starts wink
@edit: hypnogems is definately NOT spamming!
so no problem with this one!

So the answer is yes, they are just different from other fractals  if I understand it correctly. Thanks for the answer.

No I was not complaining about spam, I just found that this looked much different from other fractal animations and couldn't clearly see a fractal effect in it.

most of these effects are based on repeated application of a transformation function, the difference to 'real' fractals is, that due to the fact that always the same transformation is applied ( e.g. scale by 0.9 and rotate by 10 degree )
you will get such results, if you would add more transformations and use them more or less randomly ( e.g. with a propability value (0..1) ) you would end up in a ifs fractal type smiley

cheers
