What parameter made the bulb "grow"? Was it just iteration count - I'm surprised I haven't seen it before.

tbh - I liked this video for all the wrong reasons, the fuzzy audio and unsmoothed camera path gave me that sense of exploring for the first time - and you can't beat the bulb for its wonderful organic feel.

Yes, the only changing parameter is the iteration count. Because the iteration count is an integer, I additional change the bailout value to simulate smooth iterations.

Now I remember why it looked familiar, Fractal Explorer had an option for iteration animations (watching things grow and shrink). Its cool, I'm also imagining what could be done with M3D if you could do varying iteration animations in a DE Combinate mode. ( I only learnt what DE Combinate was yesterday, I did not realise such an amazing tool existed.)

I think there is a lot of fun to be had if software can be updated to handle it. I suspect that Ytalinflusa guy over on Youtube may already be thinking about it, if Eiffie hasn't kept his mouth shut.

I have suggested the varying of hybrid tab iterations for Mandlebulber, but that was only to find the best number of iterations to achieve a good still frame. I'm currently doing it manually for hybrids to find the "sweet spot" e.g 11 MBox iterations no good, 12 no good, 13 OK, 14 no good, 15 no good etc.
