Fractal eXtreme zoom movie crashes on playing...

I've generated a Fractal eXtreme zoom movie which has taken almost two months to render (I know, the same thing could have been completed in a fraction of the time with SFT) but when the movie player tried to play it back it appeared to load the frames fine (you can see it loading the frames, albeit quickly) but the moment it tries to play the movie it crashes.

I've uploaded the fxz file to my web server and would appreciate if anyone can see if it crashes on their system.

If Bruce Dawson could take time to see if it works on his system, he could see if there are any problems which need fixing.

I havent tried to create an AVI for it

Have you tried running the movie player as administrator?
(Shift left click of the start menu option then choose runs as administrator)
I need to do this when creating an avi file doing two pass encoding.

    I've generated a Fractal eXtreme zoom movie which has taken almost two months to render but when the movie player
    tried to play it back it appeared to load the frames fine but the moment it tries to play the movie it crashes.
    .....would appreciate if anyone can see if it crashes on their system.

I'm on an HP laptop with only (!) 3 Gb ram and when Windows 7 64-bit is running I've only got around 540 Mb of ram available.

The problem I'm experiencing is that loading the zoom movie appears to be fine and all frames load, but then when the movie player starts to play the movie the first frame that is displayed looks like the last one, then garbled frames display, then the player crashes.  This movie is a 117 Mb file.

I've created another zoom movie from one of my plugins, and when that loads (it's a 211 Mb file) it only loads so far and then crashes when it has used around 499 Mb memory (as per looking at task manager).  Is the lack of free ram the problem I wonder.  I've tried to close pretty much everything I had open on the machine and even with that there's still only

How many tasks/processes does Task Manager show you still have running??  If you make sure that you are not connect to the Internet, you should be able to close down any virus/malware detection software you have running, they tend to chew up a system.  And I am sure there are a few others that could be killed off as well.  I have had to do this many times on some of my smaller and older machines, and can usually get several hundred Mb of freed up.

I have "only" 3GB of RAM too.
If it was a memory issue I would expect an "out of memory" error rather than a crash.
Maybe worthwhile checking your virtual memory settings.
Control Panel, System and Security, System, Advanced System Settings.
Under the system properties dialog the advanced tab should be selected and click the settings button.
Click the advanced button of the performance options click the change button.
My virtual memory settings have the "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives".
You definately don't want the 'No paging file" button clicked, my currently allocated size is 3070MB.

virtual memory settings are set to automatic for me too.

Unfortunately, due to the pointy bits zoom movie taking far too long (it's probably not very well optimised) I cancelled it before it had completed.
