Please help.

I am rendering a mandelbulb 3D fly through for a project. The render is taking a very long time - which is ok, but the renders are coming out with dark lines that scroll through (or slide along) the surface of the object.

Any idea what could be causing this?

This is my first post. I've tried to include an image. I will post the text for the mandelbulb file next.

Please help.

Hi,
the bulbox formula is a hybrid of the abox and the power bulb that can make rendering more difficult on certain parts, i am wondering if you need this formula at all, at least in the specific image you can ommit it and go with the amazing box alone.
The rendering would also a lot faster because it would be analytically done, just decrease the DEstop to get the same detail level.

If you stay with the formula, look at "Roughness" in the lighting panel under "ambient", it seems that you can decrease the amount of these lines with it...  but aliasing due to specular light will be altered also, what is a little problematic because you got much specular light, no diffuse.

Dunno how far you evolved with the ani, i fear you have to go with the lines as kind of feature or to rerender everything again.
