Since the method I described is based simply on getting distances from the magnification, the path followed does not need to be a straight line - you just need to know the length of the path and how to move to a given distance along the path, given that then the algorithm I described will still keep the movement in proportion with the changes in magnification.

I succeeded with my deep zoom. I just changed the depth not the center coordinates. There was no swerve.
