Title: remarkable render times Post by: kameelian on December 28, 2011, 12:54:50 PM hi folks,
I don't know what happened here but I got a render figure that was cranking up by the second. It was up to 18000+ days by the time I managed to get the thing to exit. As good as M3D is, I don't think waiting around for over 49 years for a single picture is quite worth it. Had to take a pic (see below) cus I cudna believe it. Anyone else seen this kind of glitch? kam Title: Re: remarkable render times Post by: David Makin on December 28, 2011, 02:30:33 PM Sounds like you found parameter settings that produce an infinite loop.....
Title: Re: remarkable render times Post by: Sockratease on December 28, 2011, 03:24:14 PM Have you been dividing by zero again?
How many times have your Mother and I told you about that?? Naughty kameelian! :clown: Title: Re: remarkable render times Post by: KRAFTWERK on December 28, 2011, 03:48:30 PM Been there, done that ;)
Welcome to the club kameelian! O0 (∞ + ∞ + ∞ + ∞...) / 0 Title: Re: remarkable render times Post by: DarkBeam on December 28, 2011, 04:37:01 PM Oh noes. :tease: :o
Title: Re: remarkable render times Post by: lenord on December 28, 2011, 05:17:31 PM Seen it a few times, always my fault for doin something stupid like having 2 decimal points in one of the Render settings or negative Limiter setting or some other kind of Fatfingering of something.
Title: Re: remarkable render times Post by: kameelian on December 28, 2011, 06:08:10 PM Hah. it seems I'm in an executive club, then.
I can't recall quite what I did, I just panicked as infinity loomed and clawed my way out. kam Title: Re: remarkable render times Post by: Jesse on December 29, 2011, 12:12:55 AM Any parameters?
Title: Re: remarkable render times Post by: kameelian on December 29, 2011, 10:51:47 AM Any parameters? Hi Jesse, I don't think the parameters would be too helpful, really. I've since tried again what I think I was doing - and just got a bigger picture. If I recall correctly, I think I was attempting to render a x2 enlargement of a keyframe (or subframe) to 3840x2160 and then added x3 anti-aliasing - nothing particularly unusual - but I MAY (as lenord suggests) have 'fat fingered' the sizes and made them enormous, I'm not sure (?) As I say, I panicked after that because it would not give me back control. |
