Post by: cKleinhuis on December 07, 2011, 02:23:48 PM
its like brokerage, sorry for all, unclearness, fact is:

the ordering price is back to 29,99€

all offers with lower price will be fullfilled, but now ordering is as follows:

send contact mail to: order@fractalforums.com

send money for n calendars for 29,99€ each to paypal account

and thats it, i am seriously pi***d on, about all the administrative stuff, and all i know is that i am a too good person for this job, and amazon ruined my day, but i am asking me why i should folow the revenue marges set up by amazon ? the price was and is 29,99€ .... just the distribution has changed ...

Just one question: if you were selling merchandise that are not of your own production (like merchants who are selling DVDs, games, etc), would Amazon still charge a 25% commission?

How does amazon justify the 25% markup? Sites like etsy.com (where one can sell products of their own crafts) take 3% commission.

I don't know Amazon's conditions, but I would guess they can afford high markups simply because of their visibility. In the early years, Amazon earned a reputation, and now they are cashing in on that. I could imagine that many customers check Amazon first, and don't bother looking around for alternatives when they find what they want.

As for the price: fair is fair. Chances are that some calendars remain unsold, a very few might even get lost/damaged during shipping. A healthy margin can catch those losses. And your profits help sustain these forums here. :)
