Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum. I am interested in fractals, both for hobby and professional reasons (fractal kinetics).

Welcome to the forums! I'm curious in what way you are using fractal kinetics in your profession.

Hello Madman,

My work is mainly an application of a model developed by Brouers and Sotolongo:

I have applied it to a study of enzyme inhibition by metals. Considering that the protein surface has a fractal structure, the metal can bind to a variety of sites. This yields a statistical distribution of rate constants, from which the Brouers-Sotolongo model can be derived.

I have also applied a variant of the model (eq. 2 in the cited publication) to the pharmacokinetics of methotrexate (an anticancer drug).
