Hey Johan
Several years ago I attended a SIGGRAPH conference and they had a machine like this.
I can tell you that the video clip is limited and the actual system was quite amazing.
Evidently the black fluid is impregnated with extremely fine magnetic particles and I can assure you
if you saw it, you would want one.
I wanted it then, and would still love to have one
Very fractal in nature but completely fluid....wild stuff, and kind of magic looking

Kind of reminds me of the black smoke monster in LOST...

With the new blobby mb3d features we will see a lot of ferrofluids I guess ;D
