Title: ferrofluid Post by: KRAFTWERK on October 07, 2011, 01:14:52 PM Found this when searching for something completely different:

Several years ago I attended a SIGGRAPH conference and they had a machine like this. I can tell you that the video clip is limited and the actual system was quite amazing. Evidently the black fluid is impregnated with extremely fine magnetic particles and I can assure you if you saw it, you would want one. I wanted it then, and would still love to have one Very fractal in nature but completely fluid....wild stuff, and kind of magic looking Title: Re: ferrofluid Post by: LMarkoya on October 07, 2011, 03:19:16 PM Cool Link, thanks for the added info, I assure you in person it is amazing

Kind of reminds me of the black smoke monster in LOST...
