Title: Black Mesa Post by: Pauldelbrot on September 12, 2011, 03:06:09 PM Black Mesa (http://nocache-nocookies.digitalgott.com/gallery/8/511_12_09_11_3_06_09.jpeg) http://www.fractalforums.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=view;id=8490 The DwellGrad coloring method can be used on Julia sets as well. It works best on connected ones though; disconnected ones have a topological defect at the critical point and all of its preimages (a "cone" around which the colors circle in reverse order; the smoothed iteration curves have saddle nodes here and the grad having these conical singularities is therefore actually legitimate, but it spoils somewhat the embossed-fractal effect when there are these extra, isolated embossed points in the image). |
