Title: Camera spinning around an object Post by: Sfumato on August 08, 2011, 04:14:28 PM Dear friends, how can I spin camera around a certain object\part of fractal in such a way that the object's center, or some point\part of fractal is constantly (in each frame) in the center of the image?
I am speaking about animation and any shift of the object is extremely undesirable. I am aware of using right mouse button click in main window, but in most cases the rotation center is somewhere else, not where I need it to be. Trial and error method (positioning the fractal in 3DNavi, rotating it, evaluating the shift, repositioning with further rotating etc) is too time consuming. Can we somehow 'assign' the center for rotation? Thank You in advance, Sfumato. Title: Re: Camera spinning around an object Post by: taurus on August 08, 2011, 04:59:49 PM in mandelbulber you can. but not so easy and best when fractal center is at 0,0,0.
first you have to check the "go close to indicated surface" in the view tab. now you have to move the camera at least once towards the Fractal by clicking at the fractal (else the checkbox is ignored). now the rotation compass rose rotates the camera around the surface point you clicked on. now move the viewpoint coordinates manually to 0,0,0 (center of fractal) (you can also navigate with forward, backward and rotatation to desired point, but this is tricky). in most cases your camera is now within the fractal. too bad. by increasing the close up (zoom) value manually, you now can take the camera out of the fractal body (you need to try a bit to find the right setting). if everything went correct the compass rose should rotate the camera around the fractal. i hope i described it comprehensible. regards taurus Title: Re: Camera spinning around an object Post by: Sfumato on August 08, 2011, 07:48:44 PM Thank You, taurus! Your explanation is clear and comprehensive. Grateful for Your attention and time You took to explain! One more question is still impeding my work in MB: http://www.fractalforums.com/mandelbulber/what-provides-faster-fractal-exploration/msg34956/#msg34956 With kindest regards, Sfumato. |
