Hi,

Here are three deep zoom animation of Ducks fractals, using Damien Jones' Whoosh applet.

This applet can only perform zooms, but requires far less computations than a conventional animation. You can find it here:

Wow, beautiful!
I get the cylinder idea, but it also feels like the patterns are in relief, sticking out slightly in 3D...
Is this an illusion or what?  O0

Yes, it's an interesting illusion. The images are purely 2d.
