Title: Mandelbulber 1.05 - with Windows installer Post by: Buddhi on July 04, 2011, 08:50:04 PM Mandelbulber 1.05 - for Linux x86, Linux x64, Win32 and MacOS
Open source program (GNU GPL) for rendering photo-realistic 3D fractals Free download: http://sourceforge.net/projects/mandelbulber/ Website: http://sites.google.com/site/mandelbulber/ User manual: http://sites.google.com/site/mandelbulber/user-manual Tutorial for creating animations: http://sites.google.com/site/mandelbulber/getting-started New features in version 1.05: - Added Windows installer (uninstall also possible). Windows version is distributed as a Setup.exe file - Added uninstall script for Linux - Changed directories structure and locations. Now example and other files are located in (on Linux) /usr/share/mandelbulber directory or (on Windows) C:\Program files\mandelbulber. User data is stored in ".mandelbulber" directory located in $HOME folder. This change was necessary for Windows installer and to create real Debian packages (there is a chance that Mandelbulber will be in official Debian repository) - textures are loaded when necessary - backgrond gradient is defined using 3 colours - added "Load Example" button SVN repository: http://mandelbulber.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ This repository is available from Google Code: http://code.google.com/p/mandelbulber/ My gallery with images created using Mandelbulber: http://krzysztofmarczak.deviantart.com/gallery/ Please give me a feedback how Windows installer is working and new file locations Title: Re: Mandelbulber 1.05 - with Windows installer Post by: taurus on July 08, 2011, 01:12:17 PM thanx for the new version. the new installer makes mandelbulber feel more windows-like, as the folders are in standard directories. the installer worked fine on my machine (still 32 bit xp), the file locations fit perfectly.
for me as a linux dummy the packages would be interesting, as i'm not able to install bulber with the provided archives and i need soon the 64bit version, to render print-resolutions. can you tell a roadmap for the debian packages? the "load example" is a handy extension , as it makes it possible to separate my own work and the presets easily. thanx again taurus Title: Re: Mandelbulber 1.05 - with Windows installer Post by: Buddhi on July 08, 2011, 07:58:05 PM for me as a linux dummy the packages would be interesting, as i'm not able to install bulber with the provided archives and i need soon the 64bit version, to render print-resolutions. can you tell a roadmap for the debian packages? What a problem do you have during installation Mandelbulber form archive? Are you using 64-bit version of program? Please give me some details about it. About debian packages I don't know any timeline. Now it don't depend on me. Debian package is done, but now it's waiting for approval (http://ftp-master.debian.org/new/mandelbulber_1.05-1.html).
